Overview of the painting :
Bouquet of flowers – Ilya Efimovich Repin. 1848. Oil on canvas. 85.5 x 61 cm
This picture is a real apotheosis of summer. It depicts a huge bouquet of fresh garden flowers on a neutral greenish background. This technique allows you to make bright colors of the canvas even more juicy and lively.
The flowers in the picture are written in large expressive strokes, however, thanks to the artist’s skill, they remain easily recognizable. This bouquet arbitrarily and Volgotno combines large daisies, pale purple bells, tender fry, juicy red peonies, blue cocks and yellow anuti eyes. All this splendor crowns the luxurious blue dolphiniums, attracting all views. A modest nasturtia is blaming the bouquet on the side.
The ripe velvety peaches and other fruits lying on the table, looking great against the background of a light countertops, a dark jug and thick greens of leaves, complement the impression of a sultry summer. The composition of a shiny metal vessel and a fruit knife modestly hidden under peaches.
