Overview of the painting :
The flesh on the stones is Salvador Dali. 1926
Dali, who honored the masters of the past, all his life dreamed of visiting Paris and visiting the Louvre. In 1926 his dream came true. The artist spent a lot of time in the famous museum, enjoying the contemplation of great paintings. In the French capital, he met his idol – Picasso, whose portraits he repeatedly wrote.
In the same blue, the master created the painting “Flesh on the Stones” (1926, Museum of Salvador Dali, St. Petersberg, Florida). She obviously appeared under the influence of Picasso’s work. It is even appropriate to compare it with the work “Two women running along the beach” (1922) of the brush of the great fellow countryman Dali. A volumetric, diagonally located figure clearly dominates the plane.
