Youth is always attracted by its brightness, beauty, freshness. The artist presents us with the usual scene from the merchant life. A young girl tries on a new silk shawl. The picture is full of details revealing the nature of the heroine. Decorations are laid on the table, a girl from the servants sortes out furs, the green chest at the stove clearly hides the “wealth” of the heroine. There is a smiling merchant in the doorway, in a rich fur coat. He admires his daughter, passionate about the new wardrobe.
The color riot, so characteristic of the author, is embodied in a harmonious union of various colors: raspberry, green, white and blue.
