Overview of the painting :

Madonna with Baby (Madonna Litta) – Leonardo da Vinci. 1490-1491. The canvas, tempera, is moved from a tree. 42×33

The work of the illustrious Florentine, painter, sculptor, scientist and naturalist Leonardo da Vinci – “Madonna Litta”, named by the name of one of its owners. Everyone looking at the picture has a sense of special condition – sublime peace, inspired contemplative silence.

Da Vinci in the image of Madonna combined the sensual, earthly, high and spiritual into one harmonious unshakable image of beauty. Madonna’s face is serene, and although there is no smile on her lips, a bow of her head and posture express endless tenderness for the child whom she breastfeeds. The golden-haired Baby looks at the viewer with her right hand, holding his mother’s chest, in his left hand – the bird dandy – a symbol of the Christian soul.
