Overview of the painting :

Self portrait with yellow lilies – Natalya Sergeevna Goncharova. 1907. Oil on canvas. 58.2×77
   N. WITH. Goncharova (1881-1962) – one of the first “Avant-garde Amazons”, a woman-artist of a new formation – is her self-portrait, which is written in her workshop in Moscow, her works of the impressionistic period are presented in the interior. The canvas is written expressively, swift smears resemble Van Gogh’s painting. The image is bright and lyrical, flowers give him a special poetry – a bouquet of lilies that is pressed by Goncharov. It also serves as a colorful accent, with a bright red spot standing out against the general background of the canvas.
