The famous Russian artist Valentin Alexandrovich Serov was born January 19, 1865 into the family of creative people. His father was a famous composer and musical figure, and his mother was a pianist and Creator of several operas. After the death of the father, the son has a mother, strongly encouraging his craving for drawing since childhood.
Childhood he spent in Munich, where he learned the basics of drawing by German artist Kepping. Later the family moved to Paris, where Valentin and I met with Ilya Repin, who then became his teacher. After returning to Moscow in 1880, it was Repin, Serov entered the circle of famous artists.
Serov studied at the Academy of arts under the guidance of the famous Professor and teacher Pavel Chistyakov. My first painting called “the Oxen”, he created in 1885. At the age of twenty-two years, the artist created his famous work “Girl with peaches”, which he was immediately glorified.
In the nineties, the artist became interested in painting portraits, even created several paintings depicting members of the Royal family. The Serov with his wife raised six children.
His painting strikes with surprising freshness and jewelry designing every millimeter on canvas, but works of art gained international fame singing the praises of paintings by Russian artists.
More than a decade Serov was engaged in teaching in the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture, acting as a master and a guide for young people. But, unfortunately, due to the sudden death 5 Dec 1911., was not able to implement all of your ideas and plans.
